More focus on mechanical seals

In 2009, Vos Rotating took a new turn in the area of mechanical seals. Within the Vos Rotating Group a new division was set up that is solely responsible for the sale and revision of the seals.

The seals in our supply program vary from o-rings, compression packings, basic seals and cartridge seals to engineered solutions that are completely tuned to the customer.

Sealtek is an Italian company with 20 years of experience with seals.

Sealtek is a partner of a machine factory that manufactures chutes as well as a factory that manufactures springs. In 2009 another company from Switzerland specialising in tungsten chutes is joining as partner.

As the main agent we supply mechanical seals made by Sealtek in the Benelux.

Sealtek develops its own seals which have an number of strong features. Sealtek shaft boxes are 50% thicker than others resulting in more solid seals. Dynamic o-rings are not found on the shaft box, thus avoiding corrosion. Spring packets are found outside of the medium. Sealtek cartridge seals are modular, resulting in standardisation of spare parts.

Without sleeves

The Sealtek Sleeveless seal is revolutionary; they have no sleeves as the name indicates! No sleeves, resulting in huge savings for the end-user.  This seal can replace compression packings without having to make adjustments to the pump. In 2009 these developments will continue with the introduction of a sleeveless double seal with spray liquid system, a slurry heavy-duty seal with an axial and radial tolerance of 5mm and seals approved according to API682 – which is obligatory within the oil industry.

Locations

Vos Rotating has three business locations in the Netherlands with a Seal Service Shop and with the building of a new plant in Appingedam a fourth shop will be added. The Meppel site remains the heart of mechanical seals. The Seal Service Shop is at present undergoing a complete renovation, resulting in more possibilities in the field of revisions and maintenance.
