Vos Rotating
History

At the request of NAM a subdivision of the Vos Group moved to Den Helder in 1976. Its new name was Dutch North Sea Service (DNS). This company soon made a name for itself in the on- and offshore locations of various oil and gas companies.
DNS focused on welding and construction work, but it soon became apparent that there was a demand for a workshop for the overhaul of safety valves, pumps, compressors, motors, etc. DNS established a new division. It offered all the bundled expertise relating to the overhaul of rotating equipment. The overhaul was mainly performed by the experienced hands of former engineers of the navy and merchant navy. The name given to this division was obvious: Rotating Equipment. As from 1995 this division became an independent company within the Vos Group: Vos Rotating.
In 1994 Rob Gérard of Meppel started a company specialising in consultancy and sales of shaft seals. Because of the huge demand, the overhaul and supply of pumps was added a year later. In the years that followed the company underwent an huge expansion both in size and activities. More locations were opened. The company specialised in the supply of new pumps, electromotors and shaft seals and obtained official distribution representations. The service and overhaul departments were expanded with a division aimed at the improvement of maintaining condition control.
Recent developments
In 2003 the Vos Group took over the company of Rob Gérard, after which the company became active under the name Vos Gérard. From that moment on, Vos Rotating continued its activities under the name Vos Gérard Rotating. At the end of 2008 all rotating activities joined forces under the name of Vos Rotating and a division will soon open in Belgium
